OrchestraFinder indexes US orchestras and their upcoming concerts in a normalized form: orchestra, concert, date, venue, works performed, composer, conductor, soloists. As of today that is 357 orchestras across all fifty states, 919 composers, 26,615 works and 4,623 upcoming concerts, and it grows daily.
The interesting part as data is that orchestral programming has never been aggregated nationally. Each orchestra publishes its season in its own format on its own site. Questions like ‘which living composers are actually being programmed, and where’ have not had an empirical answer.
