It’s an open species database, now available as free downloads. Covers plants, aquarium fish and reptiles/exotic pets.
What’s in it:
– 410k species with full taxonomy
– Common names in Chinese and English
– 2.7M trait records like light, temperature and care level
CSV or Darwin Core, CC-BY.
Heads up: the traits are AI-extracted. We’re bringing in a few PhDs in these fields to review and correct them, but that’s still in progress, so there will be mistakes for now. If you know a group well, I’d honestly love for you to poke holes in it.
