{"id":42959,"date":"2026-10-19T12:27:57","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T10:27:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.graviton.at\/letterswaplibrary\/looking-for-a-sign-language-smart-glove-dataset\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T12:27:57","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T10:27:57","slug":"looking-for-a-sign-language-smart-glove-dataset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.graviton.at\/letterswaplibrary\/looking-for-a-sign-language-smart-glove-dataset\/","title":{"rendered":"Looking For A Sign Language Smart Glove Dataset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- SC_OFF --><\/p>\n<div class=\"md\">\n<p>Hi everyone!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m working on a graduation project: a <strong>Smart Glove for Sign Language Recognition and Speech Translation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Our hardware setup consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 flex sensors per glove (10 in total).<\/li>\n<li>1 IMU per glove (accelerometer and gyroscope).<\/li>\n<li>2 ESP32 microcontrollers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019m looking for a <strong>sensor-based dataset<\/strong> containing raw flex sensor and IMU readings labeled with sign classes, preferably covering both static and dynamic signs and two-handed gestures.<\/p>\n<p>Most datasets I\u2019ve found use images, videos, or MediaPipe hand landmarks, which don\u2019t directly match our hardware.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does anyone know of a suitable dataset, an open-source project that provides one, or advice on collecting and preparing our own dataset?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any help, links, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
